Art Photo Sale

Our next Art & Photograph sale will be open for bidding from 5pm Thursday, April 30. There are many excellent works in this sale including original paintings by Peter McIntyre; (Waterfall in the King Country) John Weeks (St Monans, Scotland 1955) and a portrait by Queen Victoria’s eldest Daughter, the Princess Royal who later became Empress of Germany. A more comprehensive message will follow shortly but suffice to say it is an excellent sale with many new artworks and photographs. The sale will run for 17 days, closing from 6pm on Sunday, May 17. A new addition to this sale which we hope to be trialling once the auction concludes is a BUY IT NOW feature whereby any unsold items can immediately be bought online at a fixed price. The systems developer who supplied the software that runs our auctions has been working on this feature and we’ve agreed to trial it. I should also say that this will be my last auction. In August I will be 80 and the 12-14 hour workdays that I have operated most of my life are slowly taking their toll. I have no intention however of retiring and have a number of projects that will hopefully keep me active for at least another 10+ years. Over the past five years I have built a large database of clients throughout New Zealand and also overseas. I plan, among other things, to continue the work of Heritage Art with private sales of higher value works. And hopefully there may be a person or even an existing auction house that might carry on the business I started. Happy bidding. Best wishes, Henry Newrick
