Lot Details
Atama Paparangi was a Rarawa chief who lived in the Hokianga. At over six feet tall and a revered warrior, he fought against Hone Heke in Kororareka, now Russell, in the Bay of Islands in the 1830s and was a favourite subject of both Goldie and his most famous pupil, Vera Cummings.
