This lot consists of the first 79 issues of The Wanganui Collegian, published quarterly and being a complete run from April 24, 1883-1909 when they were collated into 3 leather bound volumes and presented to the retiring headmaster, Mr Walter Empson who served as head from 1888-1909. Volume 1 is signed by all the school prefects from 1908 and Volume 3 by all the school prefects from 1909. The books are in excellent condition with no foxing. The magazine continues to be published today 141 years and is arguably the longest running magazine in New Zealand.
