December 2022 Timed Sale
Thursday, 8 - Tuesday, 13 December 2022

Join our mailing list and you are automatically entered in our twice yearly draw for a $250 Art Auction credit. Thank for visiting our site and your interest in our recent 5 day art auction which ran from Thursday December 8 - Tuesday December 13. It was a big sale with over 1,650 lots. A large number of lots were knocked down during the auction and many more have since sold. If any Lot states 'Reserve Met' and gives a price this means that it was sold in December. Other lots have since been sold but these are not shown in the catalogue. Our December auction remains open until mid-February. Numerous vendors have now instructed us to sell – not at any price but often as low as 50% of the bottom estimate as shown in the December catalogue. For example, if a work is shown in the catalogue with an estimate of $300-$500, the previous reserve would have been $270, being 90% of the bottom estimate. Now, depending on how many times a particular work has been offered and the vendor’s desire to sell, some will now accept as little as $150 using the above example. All you have to do is ask us for the best price! Of course, not all clients are willing to make such sacrifices but if any UNSOLD works in the December catalogue appeal to you then email to see whether these are still available and I will let you know what price the seller will accept. You will be amazed at what great deals there are out there especially if you are buying to eventually resell either here or overseas. SEARCH FACILITY Do make use of the excellent search facility that goes with the catalogue and which appears at the top of every page. You can search on an artist’s name, by town or country, medium, subject matter, etc. Try entering a serach term and see what comes up. To find a work in any particular medium just enter the MEDIUM in the search bar (e.g. Watercolour; Oil; Photograph, etc) VIEWING: If you live in or around Whanganui (or are travelling through) then we can accommodate, by prior arrangement, an inspection of any artwork where the low estimate was not less than $150. Our office is not open to passing traffic and we only work by appointment. Please call Henry on 027 471 2242. We’d appreciate a day’s notice of any visit as works need to be retrieved PAYMENT FOR PURCHASES: Following your purchase you will be invoiced. Prompt settlement is appreciated. Our 15% (+ gst) Buyer’s Premium will be added to the hammer price. COLLECTIONS & FREIGHT: If you are not able to collect your purchase(s) we now offer an in-house Packing service on most small to medium sized artworks. Very large or valuable works will need professional packing. Call for details. We can also deliver to a number of North Island towns at attractive rates without the need for special packing. In the case of MATTED PRINTS without frames one of the attractions of these is that we can send 5 or 6 in a courier bag generally for no more than $20 – anywhere in NZ (a bit extra for rural delivery). These make great space fillers around the home or office. They can be framed at your local frame shop according to your taste or budget. Good frames at reasonable prices can be had from Briscoes or The Warehouse. Best regards, Henry Newrick Director Heritage Art Auctions 027 471 2242
